Trump: I endorse Orbán for re-election
EnglishFormer US President Donald Trump endorsed Prime Minister and Fidesz president Viktor Orbán, ahead of the parliamentary elections later this spring, in a statement last Monday.
Viktor Orbán truly loves his country and wants safety for his people. He has done a wonderful job in protecting his country, stopping illegal immigration, creating jobs, trade, and should be allowed to continue to do so after the upcoming elections. He’s a strong leader and respected by all. He has my complete support and endorsement for re-election as Prime Minister!
wrote the former president in a statement released on the website of his Save America campaign.
Trump's statement was also shared on Facebook by Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who added: "Thank you, Mr. President."
