There is only one snag. They have already lost at home, in America.
The American strategy of using globalization to keep the 21st century for the US and allies worked well for decades. But, by the middle of the 2010s, an old/new thinking finally won the argument. According to it, globalization helped China to rise more than America to keep global leadership, so the rules of game need to be changed.
The complete American political elite seems to share this view by now. The new strategy is a mixture of less globalization and more regionalism.
Globalization as we know it now is over and new regional structures will emerge in the 2020s.
