John Thornhill seemingly deals with billionaires of three continents, but in fact he deals with three different types of capitalism in America, Europe and China /FT, 26 May 2020/.
In my view, Europe will not become more American in terms of wealth creation, just as the US will not become more European. All the key sources of wealth creation – disruptive new technologies, the size of domestic markets, the depth of stock exchanges and government regulations - will be more different in the future for the three economies than they are now.
Continents of capitalism will not come closer to each other, on the contrary, the gap between them will be even larger in the 2020s.
