We really badly need a new farming revolution where food safety, quality control and the fight against obesity are at the very heart of a new model for farming /Donna Kilpatrick, FT, 31 July 2020/.
It means, by definition, that we have to move away from industrial, destructive, monoculture farms of the present day farming, as our author put it rightly.
We should know our suppliers, direct-to-consumer sales will end in family-like ties between farmers and consumers.
We also need new ownership structures for farming to get rid of unhealthy and unsustainable big land-owners: the small will be beautiful again.
