John Plender is afraid of the loss of our central bank’s independence when the trouble strikes next /FT, 31 July 2020/. However, it has already happened to us, it is happening these days and new waves of different kinds of “troubles” will strike us in the 2020s.
We have old/new threats of all sorts, but runaway inflation. We have to forge strategic partnerships with our governments, parliaments, business sectors, citizens to fend off all the coming troubles. Connections, partnerships and joint efforts can save all of us from the calamities of the wartime in the 2020s.
In order to do the job, we have to use even more unorthodox means and tools offering cooperation for all the others to create viable and long-term sustainable solutions for mankind.
J M Keynes was right, but we should survive in the “long run”.
