Economic approaches for analysing the short, medium term and long run impact of the COVID-19 crisis– ezzel a címmel indít online webináriumot a Royal Economic Society 2020. április 9-én, csütörtökön 15 órától.

A Zoom alkalmazásban szervezett nyitórendezvény levezető elnöke Tim Besley, a London School of Economics professzora, a Nemzetközi Közgazdasági Társaság korábbi elnöke. A webinárium előadói: Daron Acemoglu és Jean Tirole professzorok lesznek.

A szervezők a következőkkel ajánlják a rendezvényt: The COVID-19 epidemic has provoked a rapid and, in many cases, unprecedented policy response from government. And many economists are playing a role in designing and analysing such policies along with studying the impact that COVID-19 is having. Although there are historical parallels with some aspects of this episode, the nature of the shock is unique and studying it requires careful thinking about the models and frameworks that we use, collecting and analysing new data as well as studying implications from existing data sets.

Over the coming weeks, the RES will be holding a series of webinars with leading economists. Some will be quite open ended while others will tackle specific issues. All are intended to bring serious economic thinking to bear on important and complex issues.

On April 9th at 2pm BST we start this process with a webinar on “Economic approaches for analysing the short, medium term and long run impact of the COVID-19 crisis” with Daron Acemoglu and Jean Tirole. They will each lay out their thoughts in opening remarks followed by Q & A.
